My Latest Knitting Obsession

As with most addictions, it started out innocent and with good intentions. I wanted to start my Holiday knitting early. Yes, I was thinking December in May. Shocking. I thought that I would make miniatures for gifts this year.
I started with these two mini socks:

Aren't they cute! And fast to make. that is the problem for me. Instant gratification at its' finest.

So, I thought that it would be a good idea to make a mini sock for every regular sock that I have made. I saved the little leftover bits of yarn. So now I have these:

Mini Socks

Now little socks are all that I want to knit. But I really should finish the cardigan that I want to take to Estes next month.

Blue Top Down Cardigan

And I was thinking that I could get my ribwarmer vest done by then too.

Brown Ribwarmer

Now, I dunno.... I am trying to be good and finish what has been started. But obsessions are not logical and do not follow the rules of knitting monogamy, they tempt without mercy.

Birthday Girl

Some little puppy I know had a birthday last week.

She is now eight years old.

Tired Majc

But I still call her my puppy.

She had some of these:

Here are a couple pics from the first week that I brought her home:

Did I ever tell you how Majc came to be a part of the family? Well, a friend of mine asked me to take her daughter to the Humane Society to look for a kitten. She didn't find one that she wanted, she was looking for a particular breed or color. While she was checking out the kittens, I saw this pitiful little puppy. It gave me the "take me home please" look. She just pulled on my heartstrings. Well, she came home with me later that day. She was eight weeks old, her first day available for adoption. I have never regretted that decision. OK, there was that one time she chewed my new leather shoes.... But she outgrew that behavior, and I learned to keep my shoes in the closet. Now she knows what toys are hers for chewing. She is a very well behaved dog, and very affectionate. We love her very much, and she is spoiled to prove it! Yeah she is.
